Dear First Year Student,
The
Beta Tau chapter of Delta Zeta is known for its outstanding academic,
philanthropic and new member programs. Delta Zetas have high academic
standards and maintain a house grade point average (GPA) above that of
the all female and all-campus GPA. Members are also active in a variety
of on and off campus activities.
The women of Delta Zeta are involved in
New Student Orientation (NSO), Ambassadors, music, theatre, varsity and
intramural sports, honorary and departmental organizations, student government
and student publications. Off campus, members work with the Lincoln Action
Program, the Parent Aid Support System, Big Brothers Big Sisters and other
community organizations.
Philanthropy projects this past year included
the revival of the Turtle Tug. The Turtle Tug, a coed tug-of-war game
over a pit of lime green Jell-O, attracted students from both NWU and
other local universities Proceeds from the event went to Camp Noodle,
a camp for children infected or affected by HIV or AIDS. Other events
include Honey Sunday, Highway Cleanup, Special Olympics and our annual
Spaghetti Feed.
The social calendar of Delta Zetas remained
full this year with a Barn Party, Hayrack Ride, formals and other events.
Although Delta Zeta may be busy reaching out to the community, its members
are never too busy for one another. Sisterhood and friendships are everlasting
at Delta Zeta.
Sincerely,
Leah Hoff
