Welcome to my home page! My name is Alicia Dallman and I am currently a sophomore at Nebraska Wesleyan University pursuing majors in English, Spanish, and Secondary Education.  My foci in English are pedagogy and linguistics, although I am also an avid poetry reader and writer. My love for poetry and the importance of students relating to poetry were the driving forces behind this website and its many resources.  Throughout the website, I have embedded my technology proficiencies in a PowerPoint, Webquest, and Newsletter.

These projects emerged in Education 187: Instructional Technology.  In this course, I discovered the many educational aids modern technology provides and, as a result, I have begun to use such resources in preparation for both my student teaching in the Spring of 2009 and future career. My PowerPoint reviews basic poetry terminology and serves as an introduction to poetry analysis, while my Webquest provides a critical thinking challenge for students centering on Nebraska’s sole Poet Laureate, Ted Kooser. My proficiencies incorporate visuals and Inspiration© organizational charts as well as video, audio, and internet links.  By employing such materials, I have been able to enhance my instructional strategies and student interaction.
