¡Bienvenidos!

My name is Christie DeVries and I am a junior at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I am majoring in Spanish with a K-12 teaching endorsement. I have already studied abroad in Queretaro Mexico in the fall semester of 2007. I plan on doing part of my student teaching abroad in Costa Rica in the spring semester of 2010.

I created this web quest to teach a lesson to a secondary Spanish classroom. I constructed this website as part of my class; Education 187: Instructional Technology. This class is important because it is essential for teachers to develop lesson plans that are familiar to students in this day and age. Technology is obviously an important part of students' lives these days so therefore it should be an essencial tool in teaching. I feel that technology only enhances the second language learning process because so many more things are available on the Internet in a second language. Within my website you will find a PowerPoint, a podcast and a webquest.

My website is designed to teach students about everyday life in a Spanish speaking country. Students will be using research from the Internet, creating a PowerPoint or video about a certain Spanish speaking country. They will gain knowledge about the cultural aspects of Latin American countries and more about how to effeciently use technolog. This webquest incorporates both Spanish teaching standards and technological opportunities for every student.
