THREE DOMAINS In my life the three domains of physical education, exercise science and sports objectives have influenced me greatly. Starting with cognitive development, which has helped me to get a better understanding of why I need to exercise and the reasons why people do. It has helped me to also in becoming a better athlete and to learn how to use my mind to control the movements I need to make my body to do what I want and get the results I desire for whatever I am doing. Affective development has helped me in the fact that even though I am not a great athlete and don’t always win or do as well as I would like, I don’t let it get me down or angry. I feel that it helps me keep good-sportsmanship and I always try to congratulate my competitors whether they did better or worse than me. I firmly believe because of my affective development it keeps me upbeat regardless of the results. I have struggled with my psychomotor development for the past few years in the sports I do. The reason for this is that I am very tall and have long arms and legs. Normally, people would think that a body type like mine would usually be awkward and uncoordinated but I am in fact, I'm the opposite. I am surprisingly very coordinated and am able to control my body very smoothly. Even though I do have a great deal of control over my body, I still have some troubles with small things. The place I have the most trouble is when I high jump. When I was younger I learned many bad habits that hindered me from reaching the heights I would like. But this past year I have been working very hard into breaking those habits and so far have been pretty successful and have even improved my jumping heights immensely.
