Welcome to my website!

Hello! Welcome to my website! My name is Mallory Eversoll, and I am currently a junior year student, studying Elementary and Special Education at Nebraska Wesleyan University. I will be student teaching a semester later than previously planned, in the fall of 2010. I am very excited about working in schools, gaining valuable experience and information, and especially excited about working with children! I have already had the opportunity to work with children through my practicums and my employment as a preschool T.A. I am leaning more toward becoming an LD or BD specialist.

For my instructional technology class, I have been assigned to create this website to demonstrate my knowledge of and capability to use technology in my future classroom. I have enjoyed learning of all the different ways I can incorporate the information I hve learned in this class to make learning fun and interesting for my students.

For my Webquest, I have decided to combine my interests in English and History to teach my students about the Oregon Trail. Provided with real-life diaries of the brave pioneers that traveled the long and difficult 2,000 mile journey, helpful educational websites, and information they have learned in class, they will be writing their own diaries, pretending that they are pioneers traveling on the trail. Over the course of two weeks, students will have the opportunity to make 2-3 entries each day about life on the trail. I will provide a supplement of what they will need to include in their journal, giving them scenarios of what could happen to their wagon train over the course of their journey, including the real-life occurances of cooking, hunting, gathering, birth, disease/illness, weather conditions, and death.
